An organism refers to a living individual in a population. A population refers to a group of organisms of a specific specie which are living in a particular geographic location at given time. A community refers to all the population of different species in a particular geographic location at a given point in time. An ecosystem refers to the community of living organisms and all the other non living environmental components with which the living organisms interact. A biome refers to a set of ecosystem which share similar features with their non living factors adapted to their environments. A biosphere refers to the sum total of all the ecosystems that are established on planet earth.<span />
The funding for science can come from two sources, private funds from companies and foundations, or public funds which can come from a number of different government agencies.
