IrinaVladis [17]

Answer: ten-fold

Explanation:

The Richter magnitude scale for earthquakes is based on a logarithmic decimal scale (base 10 scale), so that for each increment of a unit on the Richter scale the amplitude of the earthquake wave measured in the seismograph is increased 10 times.

It should be noted that this logarithmic scale is arbitrary and was created by the seismologist Charles Francis Richter, in order to assign a number to quantify the energy released by an earthquake.

Therefore:

The Richter scale is set up so that for every ten-fold increase in the amplitude of the recorded seismic wave, the Richter magnitude increases one number.

In the Odyssey, what does it mean to “come of age”? How does this compare with “coming of age” in modern times?
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

In the book, "come of age" is referred to as becoming mature. The Odyssey can be viewed as a coming- of- age story in which a young man, Telemachus, is raised without a father, matures and realizes his great potential. Telemachus starts off as a quiet young boy that is stepped all over by the suitors and then later grows to a brave and mature young man.

In Modern times most people view "coming of age" as the process of growing up or entering into adulthood. An example of coming of age is a girl who turns 14, then 15, 16, 17 and 18. It is also viewed just like the book sometimes.
