The reason a dreamy mood is created is because of the ethereal qualities film fading and dissolves lend to motion pictures in much the same manner as one might dream.  If you’ve ever heard someone speaking about a dream, you might have heard them say something like, “At first, I was in one location as a young version of myself, but then moments later I was an older version of myself in a different location after everything went black—everything seemed to fade and morph into different things.”  Things kind of blur together to form one dream.  Didion achieves her desired influence for a dreamy mood with her use of a movie as an extended metaphor.  </span>

JulijaS [17]

Answer:

Homer Hickam from the movie "October Sky". He was a high school student in West Virginia who was inspired to take up rocketry by Sputnik (the first man-made satellite) launch. His sheer dedication towards designing his own homemade missiles helped him fight against all odds. The way he handles failures and how he doesn't let set backs from discouraging him, is worth appreciating. His journey from being a local coal mine worker's son to becoming a successful NASA engineer, personifies inspiration.
