The height, in feet, of the grasshopper above the ground after t seconds is modeled by the function , which is

h(t) =-t^2+\frac{4}{3}t+ \frac{1}{4}

When the grasshopper land on the ground,

h(t)=0

that is,

-t^2+\frac{4}{3}t+ \frac{1}{4}=0

Multiplying whole equation by 12 to get rid of denominators 3 and 4

-12t^2+16t +3=0

(3-2t)(6t+1)=0 \\ 3-2t=0 , 6t+1=0 \\ t= \frac{3}{2} , \frac{-1}{6}

And time cant be negative, so the correct option is

t = \frac{3}{2}=1.5 seconds

Correct option is C .

Hello! And thank you for your question!

4 * 3.36 = T

4 * 3.36 = 13.44

T is total.

To estimate we are going to move the decimal place over one.

4 * 3 = T

4 * 3 = 12

Final Answer:

Without Estimate: 13.44

With Estimate: 12

What is the resulting rational expression? please help me with this!
alexira [117]

Answer : D

\frac{2}{3z} - (\frac{5}{6z^2} - \frac{z+3}{z})

\frac{2}{3z} - \frac{5}{6z^2} + \frac{z+3}{z}

We take common denominator

Least common denominator is 6z^2

We try to get 6x^2 in all the denominators

\frac{2*2z}{3z*2z} - \frac{5}{6z^2} + \frac{(z+3)*6z}{z*6z}

\frac{4z}{6z^2} - \frac{5}{6z^2} + \frac{6z^2+18z}{6z^2}

\frac{4z-5 +6z^2+18z}{6z^2}

\frac{6z^2+22z-5}{6z^2}
