Make an equation

X+X+200=1500

Isolate the variable

2x=1300

X=650

Know that we know what X is, we know that X + 200 will equal the cost of the second appliance

650+850=1500

lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

5

Step-by-step explanation:

Salma and Jared each threw 5 darts at the target shown. Salma scored 19 points by landing 2 darts in A and 3 in B. Jared scored 17 points by landing 1 dart in A and 4 in B. How many points are given for a dart landing in A?

this can be solved using simultaneous equation. Two equations can be formed from the question

2a + 3b = 19  equation 1

1a + 4b = 17    equation 2

Multiply equation 2 by 2

2a + 8b = 34  equation 3

Subtract equation 1 from 3

5b = 15

divide both sides of the equation by 5

b = 3

Substitute for b in equation 1

2a + 3(3) = 19

2a = 9 = 19

collect like terms

2a = 10

divide both sides of the equation by 2

a = 5

sasho [114]

Answer: BC=18

DG=6

Step-by-step explanation: well we have to use similarity. and that means setting up proportions so... 15/10 = BC/12 10BC=180, BC=18

9/18=DG/12 (we put 18 because it equals BC)

hope this helped!!
