A Sense of Proportion: Saturn is about 60,000 km in radius, and its rings are only about 0.01 km thick with ripples 100m high. D

Answer:

The thickness of ring in model is 0.00001 inch and the height of ring is 0.0001 inch.

Explanation:

The radius of Saturn = 60000 km

The thickness of rings = 0.01 km

The height of ring ripples = 100 m or 0.1 km

Now design a new model with a radius of 60 inches.

Therefore, the radius of Saturn (600000 km) = radius of the model (60 inches)

Here, one inch of the model will be equal to 1000 km of Saturn.

1 km of Saturn = 0.001 inch of model

Thickness of ring = 0.01 km

Therefore, thickness of ring in model = 0.01 x 0.001 = 0.00001 inch

The height of Saturn ring = 0.1 km

Therefore, the height of ring in model = 0.1 x 0.001 = 0.0001 inch.

It means that wherever water goes, either through the ground or through our bodies, it takes along valuable chemicals, minerals, and nutrients."<>

Light can pass easily through water and through air, but light will reflect from the surface of a lake. What does this tell you
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

 • Two different mediums:

The water and air are two different mediums through which the light wave travels. The light wave as we are the electromagnetic waves which are able to travel with out any requirement for the medium.

Moreover, there are few factors like density, temperature(T), pressure(P) etc which are related to a medium characteristics or features which makes it more different to experience for any wave propagating through it.

Explanation:

 • Water is more denser medium as compared to the air medium.

When the electromagnetic wave passes through a medium of less density such as air,1.2754 kg/m³. As the molecules of air are less compact and they provide less resistance to any wave propagating through it. While, the density of water is about 997 kg/m³. While, the light experiences the bending effect or we can simply say that, the refraction phenomenon occurs when the light enters into a more denser medium that was traveling in a less denser medium before that. There will be some reflection from the surface of the layer which is all due to the surface molecules density of the water medium.

While, the speed of light waves decrease inside the water medium due to the fact that light waves needs more space to propagate through them. As water molecule are more compact providing more resistance,R to the propagation of light waves inside it.

Neko [114]
The mass be will remain the same. It will be still be 7kg bag of marbles on the Moon.

Note: It is the weight that will be different. Weight on the moon would be (1/6) that on the Earth.
