Both saber and conocer means "to know", however, saber is used for when someone knows factual information such as how to read or do math. Conocer is used when someone if familiar with a person or place, such as a friend or a certain city. The correct present tense of conocer would be "conoce" because it is used when talking about a person by name or when they are referred to as "él", "ella", or "usted".
Copan is an ancient site of Maya peoples in what is now western Honduras. Its architectural remains include a ball field, which was an integral site for its ancient inhabitants; pyramids, which were sacred sites for leaders to communicate with the gods; and staircases, which were parts of the pyramids leading up to the different levels.
