Answer:

Area of Rectangle =  3\frac{2}{3}  square kilometers

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of rectangle is given by the formula:

Area of Rectangle = Length * Width

Given,

Length = 1  1/3rd km

Width =  2  3/4th km

Lets convert the numbers in improper fractions and then multiply and find the area:

1\frac{1}{3}=\frac{(3*1)+1}{3}=\frac{4}{3}

and

2\frac{3}{4}=\frac{11}{4}

Now, the area:

Area =  \frac{4}{3}*\frac{11}{4}=\frac{11}{3}

This answer, again back to mixed fraction is:

\frac{11}{3}=3\frac{2}{3}

THus,

Area of Rectangle =  3\frac{2}{3}  square kilometers

Select all statements that show correct reasoning for finding 12 ÷ 3/8.
babunello [35]
Correct statements:

Multiply 12 by 8, then divide by 3

This is true because when dividing by a fraction, you can multiply by the reciprocal (flipped, e.g. 8/3 is the reciprocal 3/8)

Find the remaining trigonometric ratios of θ based on the given information.

\bf sin(\theta )=-\cfrac{1}{2}\cfrac{\leftarrow opposite}{\leftarrow hypotenuse}
\\\\\\
\textit{the hypotenuse is never negative, is just a radius unit, thus}
\\\\\\
sin(\theta )=\cfrac{-1}{2}\cfrac{\leftarrow opposite}{\leftarrow hypotenuse}
\\\\\\
\textit{now, let's find the \underline{adjacent side}}
\\\\\\
\textit{using the pythagorean theorem}\\\\
c^2=a^2+b^2\implies \pm\sqrt{c^2-b^2}=a\qquad
\begin{cases}
c=hypotenuse\\
a=adjacent\\
b=opposite\\
\end{cases}

\bf \\\\\\
\pm\sqrt{(2)^2-(-1)^2}=a\implies \pm\sqrt{3}=a

now... we know the angle is NOT in the III quadrant, however the opposite(y) is negative, well the opposite is negative on the III and IV quadrants, thus, the angle must be in the IV quadrant then, and there, the adjacent(x) is positive, thus     \bf \sqrt{3}=a

\bf opposite=-1\qquad \qquad hypotenuse=2\qquad \qquad adjacent=\sqrt{3}\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
sin(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse}
\qquad
cos(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}
\quad
tan(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{adjacent}
\\\\\\
cot(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{opposite}
\qquad
csc(\theta)=\cfrac{hypotenuse}{opposite}
\quad
sec(\theta)=\cfrac{hypotenuse}{adjacent}

How can an insurance company make a profit by taking in premiums and making payouts? The value of the premiums the company takes
yarga [219]

Alot of the time insurence companies get discounts with whomever is fixing the item or person. For example- for medical insurence alot of the major insurence companies have agreements with drug companies in order to lower the payment for the company.

Another thing is they pick people who are unlikly to call and disput a claim or have problems in general.

CAN U SOLVE THIS
balandron [24]

Hello!

To the value of b, or the y-intercept, we need to substitute an ordered pair/point into the given equation.

Since we are given two points, we can use those two points to find two different equations.

Remember that ordered pairs are written as (x, y).

A(-2, 4)

y = -3x + b

4 = -3(-2) + b

4 = 6 + b (subtract 6 from both sides)

-2 = b

A) Therefore, the equation of the first ordered pair is y = -3x - 2.

B(5, 2)

2 = -3(5) + b

2 = -15 + b (add 15 to both sides)

17 = b

B) The equation of the second ordered pair is y= -3x + 17.

<u>Final answers</u>:

  • A) y = -3x - 2
  • B) y = -3x + 17
